My Entire Inclusive Library!
Ok friends! I went through my entire house looking for every book that is inclusive.. and I know I am still missing some. I will continue to add books when I discover more, but in the meantime. Here is the ultimate list of inclusive books!

Each book has a 1-2 line description of what makes it inclusive and I rated each one. I will be very honest on why I gave it the rating it got.

Tyler the Snake by Kayla Coburn* ​​ Tyler is Deafblind and introduces you to his friends and his morning routine at school.

The Bear Who Stared by Duncan Beedie* Learning about social norms of why we don't stare and accommodations for when we need to.

The Five Senses Hearing by Ruth Spiro (Baby Loves Series) This entire series has a lot of information about all the senses (and more). Very simple and very informative.

The Curiosities by Zana Fraillon* A beautiful book describing being neurodivergent in such a beautiful way.

Strictly No Elephants by Lisa Mantchev* A classic book about including everyone.

Let’s Go Play by Shelby McCarthy* This book has many examples of varying disabilities and how proper modifications can include them with their peers.

Autistic Legends Alphabet by Beck Feiner

Dyslexia Legends Alphabet by Beck Feiner Both of these books give examples A-Z of well-known people who are Autistic or have Dyslexia.

Different is a Great Thing to be by Heather Avis A beautiful book about celebrating differences, down syndrome representation!
10. Baking Up A Storm Jessica Parham*
What I love most about this book (other than that it rhymes) is that the main character is a child with a limb difference but the story has NOTHING to do with his disability.
11. My Rainbow by Trinity and Deshanna Neal*
The child is this story is on the spectrum AND identifies as transgender. The family works together to find ways to help support her and it is a truly beautiful story. But long!
12. Riley the Unicorn by Andrew O’ Brien (just came out with a second book)
Honestly, the artwork looks like it was done on an app and the language is outdated as they say "hearing loss" but it is still informative about hearing aides and Riley is gender neutural.
13. A Walk in the Words by Hudson Talbott*
A story of a child who struggles reading. New book and I am obsessed!
14. Coaster by Paula Kluth
A dog that uses wheels for his hind legs and looking for a home.
15. Best Day Ever by Marilyn Singer
A story about a dog's perspective of the day. Their owner uses a wheelchair but the story has NOTHING to do with that. Love it!
16. Just Ask by Sonia Sotomayor
A book celebrating differences, with beautiful illustrations!

17. Emmanuel’s Dream by Laurie Ann Thompson*
Based off of a true story, a child who was dismissed because of his disability, found his own way to modify the world around him and become a cyclist, play soccer, and provider for his family.
18. All the Way to the Top by Annette Bay Pimentel*
This book's main character is a GIRL!! Which feels rare in the disability realm of books. But this girl is a badass and and fighting for disablity rights In America!
19. Blaine Loves Boxes by Maria K. Victoria
Cute book of a child who has a fascination with boxes and his imagination throughout the school day.
20. Meet ClaraBelle Blue by Adiba Nelson
ClaraBelle is a story featuring a girl as the main character. They do say "special needs" in the book but describe everything that ClaraBelle is capable of doing.
21. Wild Imagination the Adventures of Maddie and Albert Written and Illustrated by Alexandra Adlawan
Disabled author alert!! And during COVID she wrote and illustrated 2 more books and made cards, stickers, etc.!

22. Roxy and Maliboo by Hillary Sussman
A story about two dogs with disabilities and how they became friends and learned to play with the dogs at the park.
23.Nia Skye’s Friend on Wheels by Keylonda Wheeler
A story of a non-disabled child befriending a child who uses a wheelchair and learning that we all have differences but we also have a lot in common.
24. Diversity Ninja
A cute story about ninjas all accepting their diverse community and choose to be inclusive.

A beautiful story of a child who identifies as a little girl.
26. Pronoun Book by Chris Ayala-Kronos and Melita Tirado*
A favorite in our house. Not a lot of words, but simple. How do you kow what someone wants to be called? You ask.
27. What Makes a Baby by Cory Silverberg*
A very gender neutral explanation of how babies are made. A perfect book about babies for little learners.
28. Boys Dance by John Robert Allman*
A book about boy ballet dancers. Beautiful!
29. Baby Feminists by Libby Babbott-Klein
A board book! Simple explanation of famisits!
30. Mama and Mommy and Me in the Middle by Nina LaCour*
A story about a little girl who misses her Mommy who went on a week long work trip. The story has nothing to do with the family having two moms. Representation!
31. Love Makes a Family by Sophie Beer*
Board book and great example of different kinds of families!
32. Natalie Portman Fables by Natalie Portman
Classic fables with more female representation!

34. The Hips of the Drag Queen Go Swish, Swish, Swish by Lil Miss Hot Mess*
Both of these books are favorites in our household. The illustrations are beautiful and the songs are fun. Plus disability representation!

A book explaining the history of PRIDE
36. A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo by Marlon Bundo with Jill Twiss
A book about a boy bunny that falls in love with another boy bunny. I do love this book but there is a stab at Mike Pence and no matter where I fall politically, I don't care for unnecessary jabs at people.

Everyone needs this book in their library. A board book and it rhymes.

A beautiful story of what our differences can create when we come together.

Representation for different cultures and genders as accountants.

Another board book, but this is a reminder to you to buy books that teach you and your children different languages.

48. Making A Baby by Rachel Greener
Very simple explanation of sex and shows representations of different types of families, cultures, and disabilities. I would recommend this book to help with sex education for older children.
49. Bodies Are Cool by Tyler Feder*
Great body positive book with so much representation! Different cultures, disabilities, body types, I love it!!
50. The Bare Naked Book By Kathy Stinson*
Another favorite book that goes over each body part. There are naked illustrations of adults and children in this book. MUST HAVE!
51. Yes! No! by Megan Madison, Jessica Ralli, and Isabel Roxas*
Great book about consent and different ways to say yes and no.
52. Your Whole Body by Lizzie DeYoung Charbonneau
Kind of like the Bare Naked Book but different type of illustrations and more scientific/advanced terms for body parts. Recommend for over 5 years old just because of language being scientific.
53. The Autism Friendly Guide to Periods
Did you know disabled people also get their periods?? They do!! And we need to educate everyone on taking care of our bodies!
